Dr Jai Prashanth Rao is a Consultant Neurosurgeon in the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI). He graduated with his MBBS degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1999. He has over 10 years experience in looking after neurosurgical patients and was awarded his FRCSEd (SN) in 2013.
His interest lies in the development of medical-related devices that will improve the outcomes of patients and as well as ease the burden placed on physicians. He has also assisted NNI is setting up the Brain Tissue Oxygenation protocol for the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Dr Rao has been awarded two national competitive MedTech Grants to develop a prototype medical device, to monitor severe head injury patients. Dr Rao is also extensively involved in the education of medical students and teaches at the three medical schools in Singapore. He is also a Core Faculty member of the SingHealth Neurosurgery Residency Programme. |
