Asst Prof Tan Thiam Chye Consultant Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology KK Women's and Children's Hospital

A Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology in KK Women’s Hospital and writer, Dr Tan Thiam Chye co-authors the “Practical O&G Handbook for the General Practitioner” and "The New Art and Science of Pregnancy and Childbirth". Being appointed as Assistant Professor since 2009, he is the founding Clerkship co-ordinator for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and develops the entire curriculum from scratch with his faculty. As SingHealth Clinican-Educator, he spends 50% of his FTE in medical education. He is a member of the selection, curriculum and promotion committees for the medical school. He is also a faculty member (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (National University of Singapore).

He was awarded the inaugural SingHealth Academy Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Educator in 2011. His research interest is in Reproductive Endocrinology in First Trimester Miscarriage. He publishes extensively and is a reviewer in medical journals such as Singapore Medical Journal and Saudi Medical Journal. He is editor in Singapore Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KK Review and Proceedings of Singapore Healthcare. His latest innovation is the iphone and ipad App “Asian Pregnancy” launched in Feb 2012.
