Dr David Ng is Chief Executive Officer of SingHealth Polyclinics, overseeing 10 polyclinics across Singapore's Eastern Region. A Family Physician with over 20 years of experience in public healthcare, he also serves as Academic Chair of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Family Medicine Academic Clinical Program.

Appointed CEO in January 2022, Dr Ng has positioned SingHealth Polyclinics as a key player in Singapore’s Healthier SG initiative, with a focus on primary care enrolment and preventive care. Prior to his appointment, as Deputy CEO, he guided the organisation through COVID-19 and led the implementation of teleconsultation services across the network.

From 2012 to 2017, Dr Ng was involved in the conceptualization and setting up of a new polyclinic in Punggol, where he served as Clinic Director. Upon its completion, he continued to helm Punggol Polyclinic for two years, during which a joint collaboration between Temasek Foundation Care, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and SingHealth Polyclinics to enhance maternal and child healthcare delivery sparked renewed focus in MOH in this area.

Dr Ng chose public service driven by his commitment to team-based care and serving underprivileged communities. His core philosophy centers on the inherent value of people and improving lives for a stronger nation.

HM3 - Leadership in Action: Insights from Primary Care Perspective

This session shares a practical approach to personal leadership shaped by simplicity, self-awareness, and systems thinking through the lens of Primary Care.

It draws from the personal experience of implementing Healthier SG in SingHealth Polyclinic, the lessons and pitfalls gleaned from it and the leadership frameworks formed through the journey.

Through the session, participants are invited to reflect, make sense of complexity and act with purpose.
