Essentials in Trauma & Emergency General Surgery (ETEGS) Workshop

The “Essentials in Trauma and Emergency General Surgery”Surgery”( course aims to provide participants with a platform to review and perform common techniques and surgical maneuvers encountered in the setting of common emergency GS and trauma scenarios Coupled with the application of a well established animal model (live porcine) and access to real life practical operating theatre ( setup and equipment, this course will allow participants to perform the various surgical procedures in a realistic and supervised environment.

Course Objectives

Familiarisation with typical OT equipment used for the performance of common General Surgery procedures
Reinforce common surgical techniques and approaches need in emergency General Surgery
Reinforce surgical techniques for managing common emergency GS conditions
Introduction to advanced surgical techniques for exposures and maneuvers in Trauma
