5th SGH Acute Care Surgery & Trauma Symposium

The 5th SGH Acute Care Surgery & Trauma (ACS) Symposium brings together regional and international experts in paediatric trauma, trauma systems, and acute care surgery for a dynamic one-day educational meeting focused on contemporary challenges in trauma and emergency general surgery.

Symposium Outline

• Explore contemporary advances in trauma systems, paediatric injury prevention, pre-hospital care, and early resuscitation strategies that influence patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
• Review current evidence, evolving controversies, and emerging scientific developments in the management of acute surgical and trauma patients, with emphasis on physiology-guided resuscitation, source control, diagnostic precision, and complication rescue.
• Strengthen clinical decision-making through discussion of complex real-world challenges in acute care surgery, and examine how advances in technology, risk prediction, and multidisciplinary collaboration will shape future ACS practice.

General surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, paediatricians, children’s emergency and paediatric trauma and surgery specialists, intensivists, surgical residents and trainees, medical students, nursing and allied health professionals with a keen interest in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
