2nd SingHealth Pleural Disease and Thoracic Ultrasound Workshop

This 2.5-day workshop brings together healthcare professionals with a shared interest in pleural medicine for a clinically focused and interactive learning experience. Through expert-led lectures, interactive case discussions, and hands-on sessions on thoracic ultrasound and pleural procedures, participants will gain practical insights and skills applicable to everyday clinical care. The aim is to enhance confidence in pleural procedures, thoracic ultrasound, and evidence-based management of pleural disease. The workshop is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of speakers and faculty from Respiratory Medicine, Radiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, and Oncology.

Symposium Outline

• Comprehensive evidence-based discussion of topics related to pleural medicine
• Latest updates in the management of pleural disease
• Small group hands-on experience with thoracic ultrasound and pleural procedures including thoracoscopy, indwelling pleural catheter insertion, and image guided pleural biopsy
• To independently perform a focused thoracic ultrasound examination and interpret findings into the clinical context.

Target Audience

Practitioners with an interest in pleural and respiratory medicine, including physicians, trainees, residents, nurses and allied health professionals in Respiratory Medicine, General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Thoracic Surgery and Medical Oncology.
