Brian C. Lau, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University and dual fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine and foot/ankle surgeon specialising in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, foot, and ankle. He serves as Director of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Research, Co-Director of Sports Medicine Research, and Associate Programme Director for the Duke Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship.

Dr. Lau is a team physician for Duke University and Elon University Athletics and serves as a team physician for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League. He is also Medical Director of Duke’s FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. He holds leadership positions in the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He is committed to advancing athlete care through clinical innovation, research, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
