Overview:

Following a C5/C6 spinal cord injury in 2019, Rodrick completed rehabilitation before returning to school, entering the workforce and representing Singapore as a Class 2 para table tennis athlete.

In this session, he shares his experiences of rebuilding life after injury, the challenges that continue long after rehabilitation ends, and the role sport has played in helping him stay active, find community and build purpose.

Drawing from his lived experience, Rodrick offers an athlete’s perspective on how healthcare professionals can support recovery beyond the hospital by helping patients discover opportunities, overcome barriers to participation and see what remains possible after injury.
