Prof ONG Biauw Chi is Senior Consultant / Cardiac Anaesthesiologist. She was Head of Anaesthesiology Singapore General Hospital (SGH) from 2009 till 2014. She was Director of Patient Safety and Director of Clinical Governance till August 2015 for a period of 9 years and set up the patient safety structure in SGH. She took SGH through first and 3 more Joint Commission International accreditation. She was involved in the Design and Building of Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). She was appointed first Chairman Medical Board, SKH from 2014 till 2021. She was awarded Woman of the Year 2020 of her work in management of the dormitory outbreak during the COVID-19 pandemic and received the Public Administration Gold Medal (COVID-19) in 2023 in recognition of her efforts. In 2014, she was awarded National Medical Excellence for National Outstanding Clinical Quality Activist and National Day Public Service Silver Medal, 2013. She leads the A HEAL Programme which conducts the master’s in healthcare leadership and management degree awarded by NUS. She is currently SingHealth Group Chief Risk Officer.
