Ms Gabrielle Chia is a Nurse Clinician with the Department of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where she has served since 2014. In her role, she oversees infection‑prevention practices across the Medical and Ambulatory Centres, with particular expertise in quality assurance for endoscope reprocessing. Her portfolio includes leading microbiological surveillance programme, conducting reprocessing audits, and investigating significant organism detections to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Ms Chia also serves as the lead for central line–associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) prevention. She drives system‑level improvements through surveillance, root‑cause analyses, and the implementation of evidence‑based interventions. In addition, she supports infection‑prevention operations for the High‑Level Isolation Unit (HLIU) at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, contributing to national readiness for high‑consequence infectious threats.
She holds a Master of Public Health and is actively involved in research on healthcare‑associated infections, with a focus on strengthening evidence‑based practice and advancing infection‑prevention science.
