Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI) are one of the most common types of Healthcare-associated Infections affecting patients during or soon after their care. Its impact can range from discomfort and pain to serious, life-threatening complications such as sepsis and organ failure. CAUTI can significantly affect patients’ recovery and quality of life, and can lead to prolonged hospital stays and increased healthcare costs.

CAUTI prevention in an acute hospital is a shared multidisciplinary effort that offers plenty of opportunities for continuous learning and improvement. Clin Asst Prof Park Joon Jae will share his thoughts on the foley catheter used in daily clinical practice and why is it so important that everyone should focus on CAUTI prevention.
