Adj Asst Prof Kalisvar Marimuthu is the head of the Infection Prevention, Control and Outreach (ICON) Office of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and a senior consultant in Infectious Diseases at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He is also the infection control advisor for Woodlands Health (WH) and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). Adj Asst Prof Marimuthu has a master’s degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is trained as a senior research fellow in IPC from the Geneva University Hospital. He serves on various WHO guidelines development groups on IPC and AMR. His research focusses on pathogen transmission dynamics, HAI surveillance and prevention, the role of the built environment in pathogen transmission, and applied genomics in IPC.
