Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to our first Infection Prevention & Control Forum on 18 October 2024. We have specially chosen the theme "Safe Environment, Save Lives” as the main focus for our first forum. The aim of the forum is to share our experiences as healthcare professionals in creating a safe environment for our patients. Environmental hygiene is an important area that contributes to the reduction of hospital acquired infections. This forum will serve as a platform to learn and share best practices on infection prevention and control from experts in medical and healthcare professions as well as the latest updates in the field.
The global pandemic of the past two years has accelerated changes in how we manage infection prevention and control (IPC) in our institutions. The quick action based on lessons learned during the SARs outbreak aided the healthcare institutions to put in place infection prevention measures to stem the spread and in due course reduce infections in the healthcare institutions and country as a whole.
The forum will feature poster and oral presentations on achievements made in the IPC programmes in the various institutions. These submissions will go a long way in providing all delegates knowledge on how the various institutions have managed the challenges and achieved the required goals. We wish our delegates a fruitful time in learning and sharing their work in infection prevention and control.
We look forward to welcoming you at the first Infection Prevention & Control Forum 2024!
Yours Sincerely,
Assoc Prof Ling Moi Lin
