Clinical Preceptor Course

Synonym(s):

The Clinical Preceptor Course aims to empower nurses with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitude for conducting effective clinical teaching and supervision of pre-registration/pre-enrolment nursing students.

 

Participants will learn to:

  • Discuss the role and responsibilities of a clinical preceptor
  • Describe the adult learning approach
  • Communicate supportive and constructive feedback
  • Act as professional role models in clinical practice
  • Reflect on the quality of all aspects of one preceptor role

 

Target Audience

  • Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of current practice in the clinical area and have not attended Clinical Instructor Development Programme

  • Enrolled Nurses with at least 2 years of current practice in the clinical area and have not attended Senior Enrolled Nurse Developmental Programme or Enrolled Nurse Cardiac Nursing Course
