The College of Healthcare Engineering (CHE) aims to be a powerhouse in leading Engineering healthcare education in Singapore and across the region. CHE oversees and develops the full continuum of education and training for all professional Engineers, Clinician Engineers, Research Engineers, Clinical Innovation Engineers and Support System Engineers.

Besides meeting the diverse needs of our Academic Medical Centre’s Engineers, CHE builds upon its strengths and principle of providing patient-centric healthcare, and aims to advance four key areas of expertise:

AI & Patient-specific Modelling

  • Provide high quality data-centric process for improved patient outcome
  • Utilise a supercomputing infrastructure for support
  • Implement Digital Twin Modelling for improved predictions
  • Extend applicability to all fields of medicine for greater impact

Medical Devices

  • Focus on bench-to-bedside proximity and translation
  • Grant access to SingHealth Medical Technology Office (MTO) for ISO/IEC Standards

Engineering for Healthcare Systems

  • Offer engineering innovations tailored to improve hospital organizations, healthcare system management, its innovation systems, facilities as well as policies

Translational Biomedical Imaging, Biomechanics, & Biomaterials

  • Emphasise translational aspects of Biomedical Imaging, Biomechanics, and Biomaterials
  • Develop in-house access to advanced and novel imaging techniques in Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, etc
  • Establish infrastructure for computer modelling of mechanobiology

CHE aims to be the leading education institute that offers educational excellence and plants Engineering at the heart of clinical and hospital decisions to enhance patient-centric care and transform the healthcare landscape through innovative engineering solutions.

Vision:
To put Engineering at the heart of clinical and hospital decisions so as to ultimately enhance the health of our patients and their healthcare journey.

Mission:
  • To provide a home and support for AMC Engineers
  • To establish strong links between SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC and local Engineering institutions
  • To develop Engineering-powered, data-centric, and cost-effective solutions to improve healthcare delivery
