Performance Improvement Programme

A formal performance improvement plan (PIP) can resolve workplace productivity issues and help even the most struggling employee succeed within your organisation. Not all workers are equally effective at delivering projects on time — some lack focus, while others create bottlenecks that delay the completion of assignments. To address these issues, a supervisor might speak with the employee directly, hoping that a conversation alone will resolve the problem. However, when an employee continues to struggle despite their best efforts, a more structured approach becomes necessary. A well-designed PIP provides clear direction and measurable goals, giving employees a concrete path forward. It is an effective tool for improving worker productivity and addressing performance gaps in the workplace.

Trainer Profile

Colin is an experienced HR and Learning & Development practitioner with both regional and local experience. Prior to his current role, he supported learning and development across Southeast Asia and Greater China, combining training administration with facilitation.

As an HR Business Partner, he worked closely with leaders, managers and employees on a wide range of people and performance-related matters. These experiences gave him valuable insights into the challenges of managing performance from both the manager’s and employee’s perspectives.

Drawing on his practical experience, Colin developed this Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) programme to help managers approach performance issues with greater clarity, confidence and empathy. His facilitation style is practical, engaging and grounded in real workplace experiences.
