ReXilience® Crisis Support for Individual Resilience


This is one of the courses under the ReXilience® Programme, which aims to equip staff with the knowledge and skills in mental resilience and psychological wellness support, and to create a culture of care across all SingHealth institutions by:

  1. Raising awareness of the importance of mental and emotional well-being
  2. Equipping individuals with knowledge and skills to thrive
  3. Engaging organisations to support resilience building initiatives

This course provides a framework that helps participants recognise and assist individuals experiencing emotional distress after a challenging situation or traumatic event.

 

Learning Objectives

At the course, participants will learn:
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of stress and acute traumatic stress reactions
  • Learn to communicate with and provide initial help to those who have experienced a challenging or traumatic event
  • Know how to guide a person towards professional help when needed
  • Be aware of the impact of crisis support work and how to care for one’s self


Target Audience

  • SingHealth staff who are interested to develop skills to learn about the impact of challenging situations or traumatic events and develop skills to provide emotional support to someone in need
