Crisis Support for Individual Resilience


This is one of the courses under the ReXilience Programme, which aims to equip staff with the knowledge and skills in mental resilience and psychological wellness support, and to create a culture of care across all SingHealth institutions by:

  1. Raising awareness of the importance of mental and emotional well-being
  2. Equipping individuals with knowledge and skills to thrive
  3. Engaging organisations to support resilience building initiatives

This course provides a framework that helps participants recognise and assist individuals experiencing emotional distress after a challenging situation or traumatic event.

Learning Objectives

At the workshop, participants will learn:
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of stress and acute traumatic stress reactions
  • Learn to communicate with and provide initial help to those who have experienced a challenging or traumatic event
  • Know how to guide a person towards professional help when needed
  • Be aware of the impact of crisis support work and how to care for one’s self


Target Audience

  • Individuals who are interested to learn about the impact of challenging situations or traumatic events and develop skills to provide emotional support to someone in need
  • Organisations that are planning to develop a crisis support system
