
NITEC in Dental Assisting Programme
Dental assistants are integral members of the oral healthcare team, and are employed extensively in private and public sector dental clinics and institutions. They assist dental surgeons in the provision of customer-focused, quality oral healthcare for patients.
Jointly organised by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS), the NITEC in Dental Assisting Traineeship Programme provides training in the supporting functions of dentistry. The programme combines off-the-job training at the NDCS and on-the-job training at the workplace.
Upon successful completion, the trainee will receive a nationally recognised NITEC in Dental Assisting, awarded by ITE.
Duration:
1 year (2 academic terms for off-the-job training)
Entry Requirements:
- 3 GCE 'N' level passes (Grades 1 – 5) in English Language and any other 2 subjects OR
- 2 GCE 'O' level passes (Grades 1 – 8) in any 2 subjects
