Phy. Ong Si Yu is a Physician Supervisor at Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution (新加坡同济医院) and a full-time physician specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She holds a double degree in Biomedical Sciences and TCM from Nanyang Technological University and has five years of clinical experience, including three years focusing on renal TCM. Phy. Ong is actively involved in research, education, and clinical applications of TCM, particularly in renal conditions and herb-drug interactions (HDI). She earned his master’s degree from Liaoning University of Chinese Medicine, where her research examined the historical evolution of myasthenia gravis (MG) through ancient texts and applied network pharmacology to bridge traditional and modern medicine. An advocate for evidence-based TCM, Phy. Ong conducts literature reviews and clinical studies on HDI to enhance the safe integration of TCM with Western medicine. He also contributes to research on big data applications in renal TCM. Currently, she is looking to collaborate with Singapore General Hospital (SGH) to investigate TCM’s role in autoimmune conditions, particularly Rheumatoid Arthritis. Phy. Ong is dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration, aiming to advance TCM’s role in modern healthcare through research and clinical practice.
