Dr (TCM) Chua Hui Zi

 
Dr Chua Hui Zi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) professional with a Doctorate in TCM Internal Medicine from Tianjin University of TCM, and a double degree in Biomedical Sciences and TCM from NTU and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Under the mentorship of Professor Zhang Boli, a renowned academician and recipient of China’s prestigious national honorary title "People's Hero" for his contributions to COVID-19 efforts, Dr Chua has contributed to research on developing core outcome sets, focusing on standardising outcomes for TCM-based interventions and promoting evidence-based integration of TCM into clinical practice. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Chua was a key contributor to a MOH funded research grant for a randomised controlled trial assessing efficacy of Lianhua Qingwen in COVID-19 treatment (the study was terminated due to manpower constraints) and also co-edited the book “Diagnosis and Treatment of COVID-19 with Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine”. Currently, Dr Chua serves as a council member for the Specialty Committee of Clinical Effectiveness Evaluation of the World Federation of Chinese Medicines Societies.
