Adj Assoc Prof TAN Ngiap Chuan

Adj Assoc Prof (Dr) Tan Ngiap Chuan is the Director for the Department of Research in SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP) and the Vice-Chair for Research in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Family Medicine Academic Clinical Programme. He is also a practicing Family Physician at SHP-Pasir Ris, a physician-faculty for the SingHealth Family Medicine Residency programme and an appointed mentor for medical undergraduate from Duke-NUS Medical School for their research elective internship. He is a Fellow at the Academy of Medicine Singapore and he graduated with a Master in Clinical Investigation from the National University of Singapore in 2010. 


Assoc Prof Tan has written more than 80 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and one book chapter. He was a recipient of the SingHealth Publish Award for Family Medicine in 2015. He has been awarded $1.6 million in research grants from various agencies. A/Prof Tan spearheads the SHP Signature Research programmes, which focus on chronic disease management, health promotion and disease prevention, as well as innovations in primary care.
