Adj Assoc Prof NG Swee Cheng

Adj Assoc Prof Ng Swee Cheng is a Visiting Consultant to the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Singapore General Hospital. A local graduate, she obtained her MBBS in 1974 and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 1984. She went on to train in Rheumatology as a Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles from 1986 to 1988. Adj Assoc Prof Ng was the former Program Director of the SingHealth Rheumatology Residency Program and remains a Faculty of the program. She enjoys teaching undergraduates and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore. Adj Assoc Prof Ng also has a special interest in Research Ethics, and is a Certified IRB Professional and the longest serving Chairman of the Domain Specific Review Board in the National Healthcare Group (NHG). She was awarded the NHG Outstanding Citizenship Award in 2008 for that work. Adj Assoc Prof Ng has served on various committees including the Singapore Medical Council Complaints Committee and Disciplinary Committee, Executive committees of the Academy of Medicine, Chapter of Rheumatologists and the Singapore Society of Rheumatology. A founder member of the National Arthritis Foundation, she continues to serve as a member of the Patient Care Sub-Committee.
