There is a Chinese idiom that goes “illness enters from the mouth”. This symposium serves to give an overview of the link between various oral diseases and systemic diseases, particularly the association between periodontitis and diabetes, as well as malocclusion and obstructive sleep apnea. This symposium will also cover systemic conditions that may manifest in the orofacial areas as well as common oral side effects that may occur from drugs prescribed for systemic diseases and how to manage them.
