I think this Congress is unique in
the sense that you get to hear
so many people here in this Academic Medical Centre. It
brings everybody together under
the same umbrella, the roof of Academic Medicine.

Allied Health Symposium
Building a Future-Ready Allied Health Profession: What's on the Horizon

 Track type: Symposium

Date: 21 Sep 2018

 Time: 1520 - 1650

Location: Academia, Level 1, L1-S1

Globally, the healthcare landscape is changing. We are seeing an aging population with more chronic illnesses. Healthcare sectors are moving from being supply driven toward a patient-centred model, with increasing focus on integration of care. Technological advances have also infiltrated our daily lives. So how do AHPs evolve with these changing social and healthcare landscapes? At this symposium, we will take a look at how AHPs can harness technology to enhance education of future AHPs, as well as to enhance our practice and patient care. We will also explore how AHPs’ roles will evolve along with the multi-disciplinary team in integration of care. Leadership is the key to building future-ready health, care and wellbeing services. How can AHP build and position our leadership? Last but not least, how do we build and sustain our resilience in face of challenges in the healthcare sector? In short, how do we build future-ready AHPs.
