Dr Yeo Joo Guan is an Associate Consultant in Paediatric Medicine at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He earned his M.B.,B.S. and Masters of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) from the National University of Singapore. During his advanced speciality training, he obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology, Immunology Programme, on the role of serine proteases C1s in lupus pathogenesis, supported by the Singapore Miniatry of Health Healthcare Research fellowship in 2014.
Dr Yeo is currently working under the mentorship of Professor Salvatore Albani at the SingHealth Translational Immunology and Inflammation Centre on the role of regulatory B cells in lupus pathogenesis. Ultimately, he hopes to pursue translational immunology research to identify novel therapeutic targets that may decrease the side effects of current immunosuppressive agents used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
