Assoc Prof TAN Bien Keem

Assoc Prof Tan Bien Keem is currently Head of the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as well as part-time faculty at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore. He is currently, the President of the Association of Burn Injuries Singapore and the Wound Healing Society Singapore. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee on Transplantation at SGH, a member of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Surgery Academic Clinical Programme and an Associate Editor for the Archives of Plastic Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery Journals.

 

Assoc Prof Tan has been involved in research, education and clinical treatment related to microsurgery for more than 10 years. He has been the Organising Chairman of the Biannual Microsurgery Course for more than five years and a trainer for the Basic Surgical Skills Course for close to 10 years. He also served as the Organising Chairman for the Cadaveric Flap Dissection Course in September 2013 at SGH. Assoc Prof Tan is an internationally recognised speaker, clinician and researcher, and has published extensively in numerous medical journals and books.
