Dr Saumya S JAMUAR

Dr Saumya Jamuar is a Consultant in the Department of Paediatrics, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He graduated with MBBS from National University of Singapore and completed his Paediatric Training within SingHealth. He joined the Harvard Medical School Genetics Training Program for his Genetics Fellowship, as part of his Health Manpower Development Plan training. During his training, he was actively involved in basic bench-side research in the laboratory of Dr Christopher A. Walsh aimed at understanding the genetic underpinnings of various neurological disorders, such as brain malformations, autism spectrum disorder and epilepsy. He was awarded the Young Investigator Award at the American Epilepsy Society Meeting in 2013 for his work on “Targeted Sequencing of Patients with Epileptic Encephalopathies”. His work on “Somatic Mutations in Cerebral Cortical Malformations” was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
