Dr
Manisha trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in Aberdeen, Scotland
where she spent more than 10 very productive years of her life acquiring
valuable knowledge and experience. After completing her training she worked as
a consultant and honorary clinical lecturer at Aberdeen University till 2011.
Dr Manisha joined KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) as an Associate
Consultant in August 2011 and was appointed as a Consultant in 2013.
Teaching is close to her heart and she is actively involved with teaching and
training medical students of the three medical schools attached to KKH. Dr
Manisha is the Programme Director of the SingHealth Obstetrics & Gynaecology(O&G) Residency
Programme. She is committed to the education of Residents and is involved in
developing and implementing evaluation systems. Dr Manisha is also actively
involved in planning and teaching at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, as
a Deputy Co-coordinator of the programme.
As a clinician, Dr Manisha is a generalist but has special interest in acute
obstetrics and menstrual disorders. During her years in training she was
involved in helping her mentor with his dedicated menstrual clinic and his
research project associated with the use of various methods of endometrial
ablation for conservative management of menorrhagia. She also did research on
the use of mifepristone and misoprostol for miscarriage.
