Dr Harpreet Sarna is a Medicolegal Adviser at Medical Protection Society (MPS). He is enthusiastic about his role in supporting and advising doctors. He also enjoys teaching on a variety of medicolegal topics. Harpreet is based in London and provides expert advice to MPS members in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Harpreet graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (with a distinction in pathology) in 2003. After completing his house jobs and a three year psychiatry rotation, Harpreet embarked on general practice training in 2007. Harpreet worked as a general practitioner in north London and was Clinical Lead for his local out-of-hours organisation before joining MPS. He completed his LL.M Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, at Cardiff University in 2007. For his dissertation, Harpreet analysed whether the rights of mentally ill individuals are adequately protected by domestic legislation and Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
