Associate Professor Arjandas Mahadev is based at KK Women's and Children's Hospital in the capacity of Head and Senior Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. His main interest lies in paediatric foot, ankle and hip conditions. Paediatric trauma forms the bulk of his work. He did his fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Children's Hospital, San Diego and is a corresponding member of the Paediatric Orthopaedics Society of North America.

 

He is deeply involved in the teaching and training of both undergraduate and advanced postgraduate trainees in Orthopaedics. He holds teaching appointments as Adjunct Associate Professor with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS Medical School. He is Associate Programme Director with SingHealth in the planning of the Orthopaedics Surgery Residency Programme.

 

He has several international, regional and local peer-reviewed papers published and has been involved in the scientific committees of several scientific meetings. He regularly lectures as an invited expert at regional meetings.

 

Assoc Prof Mahadev volunteers half a day each month conducting clinic session at the Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore. He is a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore and has been involved in several community projects including The President’s Challenge in 2007. He has also been active in educational outreach programmes for Paediatric Orthopaedics around the region.
