Emergency Airway Management Course

The Emergency Airway Management Course provides participants with up-to-date information and hands-on practice to ensure effective and appropriate management of airway emergencies.

The 2-day intensive course consists of core content lectures, practical skill stations on various scenarios and hands-on training in crucial airway techniques.


Course Objectives

  1. Demonstrates a systematic approach to assessing the airway
  2. Recognise the features of a difficult airway, both anatomically and physiologically
  3. Choose the right approach to managing the airway inclusing pharmacology and procedural methods of securing the airway
  4. Formulate and verbalise plans B, C and D prior to executing the first plan
  5. Recognise complications associated with airway interventions and be able to mitigate or respond appropriately
  6. Demonstrate the ability to secure the airway using direct methods, videolaryngoscopy, surgical methods
  7. Demonstrate team leadership and skills in managing the airway
  8. Demonstrate the ability to use invasive and non-invasive ventilation appropriately
  9. Understand the difference between the adult and paediatric airway

  • Nurses from Emergency Medicine Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Operating Theatre (OT) & Anaesthesia
