Essentials in Trauma & Emergency General Surgery (ETEGS) Workshop

The “Essentials in Trauma and Emergency General Surgery”Surgery”( course aims to provide participants with a platform to review and perform common techniques and surgical maneuvers encountered in the setting of common emergency GS and trauma scenarios Coupled with the application of a well established animal model (live porcine) and access to real life practical operating theatre ( setup and equipment, this course will allow participants to perform the various surgical procedures in a realistic and supervised environment.

Course Objectives

• Familiarisation with typical OT equipment used for the performance of common General Surgery procedures
  
• Reinforce common surgical techniques and approaches need in emergency General Surgery
  
• Reinforce surgical techniques for managing common emergency GS conditions
• Introduction to advanced surgical techniques for exposures and maneuvers in Trauma
