Advanced Laparoscopy Workshop
In the last 20 years, Minimally-Invasive Surgery (MIS) has expanded from its niche area to join the mainstream of most surgical specialties. In fact, MIS procedures have become the preferred choices in gallbladder, colorectal and bariatric surgery; and indeed MIS is even making inroads into traditional bastions of open surgery such as transplant, cardiac and orthopedic surgery. Surgical training in the 21st century would be incomplete without formal teaching and structured guidance in the technique of MIS procedures. This workshop will allow participants to practice and enhance their laparoscopic skills.
This Advanced Laparoscopy Workshop serves as an advanced training platform for trainees to hone their laparoscopic skills and procedures under guided supervision. At the end of the workshop, trainees will be able to acquire knowledge of advanced laparoscopic techniques and demonstrate competency in the application of such techniques in laparoscopic surgical procedures (under guided supervision).
