Application for Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Programme
Applicants for PGY1 programmes are required to submit a SingHealth PGY1 Programme Application Form and attach the following documents:• CV• Latest official transcriptOptional documents:• Letters of recommendation• Publications: A copy of the publisher article or titles of the article and journal • Abstracts and Letters of Acceptance
Local medical students who have not received an application form can request a copy from the respective class representative(s). Alternatively, applicants can write in to the SingHealth PGY1 Programme at PGY1@singhealth.com.sg to request for a copy of the form.
International Medical Graduates (IMGs) applying to PGY1 Programme
Passing postgraduate exams without undergoing a formal structured or accredited training programme does not indicate that competency milestones in training have been reliably reached or ensure that training standards, level of competency and completeness of training is attained. Hence all non-trainee doctors will start from Residency Year One if they are accepted and matched into a residency. Singaporeans who are IMGs and would like to undergo residency training in Singapore are advised to apply early and return to Singapore as soon as they complete their medical studies.
Application for Residency
Medical Officers & House Officers applying to Residency ProgrammesApplicants for Residency training programmes are required to submit their portfolios and work-based assessments and apply for interviews to get into their selected specialties. Applicants will also undergo the match to their selected specialties and sponsoring institutions.
All applications to Residency training programmes in Singapore are managed by MOH Holdings Pte Ltd (MOHH). IMG applying to Residency Programme
Singaporeans who are IMGs and would like to undergo Residency in Singapore are advised to apply early and return to Singapore once you have completed your medical studies IMGs who are existing Residents or specialist trainees in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and UK can apply to enter into the Residency programmes in Singapore with their years of training taken into account after it is assessed by the committees of the Specialists Accreditation Board. They must be first matched into a Residency programme to be accepted and assessed.

Application for Medical Subspecialty Senior Residency ProgrammeApplicants for Senior Residency training programmes are required to submit their portfolios to MOHH. Unlike the Residency programmes, applicants will not have to attend a national Multiple-Mini-Interview (MMI). Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office will receive the Resident’s portfolio through MOHH and forward the portfolio to the respective Senior Residency Programme for their review. The programme will contact and conduct an interview with the Resident.
Residents may contact the Senior Residency Programme via their programme email if they wish to get in touch with the Programme Directors. Only Residents who have completed the Internal Medicine Residency Programme are eligible for the Senior Residency Programme.
