About the Programme

The SingHealth Paediatrics Residency Programme seeks to groom competent physicians with the relevant medical knowledge, clinical skill sets and right attitudes to care for young patients. 

The three-year robust training programme offers a training curriculum that comprises a fine mix of clinical activities, didactic lectures and research opportunities in a well-rounded environment.

Wide exposure at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) – Singapore’s main paediatric teaching hospital

The main training site for the SingHealth Paediatric Residency Programme is at KKH – Singapore’s only integrated hospital for women and children, and one of the largest children’s hospitals regionally. KKH is an 827-bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited hospital with a 365-bed dedicated children’s facility. Benefit from the wide exposure and case-mix at KKH, which is equipped with Paediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU and Singapore’s first children’s Emergency Department. It is also a major paediatric teaching hospital affiliated with the local medical schools.

Each Resident is matched to a mentor for the duration of their Residency programme to nurture and develop an Individualised Learning Plan and maximise training.

With competency-based, structured assessments and regular feedback by mentors on your progress, you would be equipped to learn effectively. Programme features such as continuity clinics and educational conferences are also in place to enhance your training as a paediatrician.

Continuity clinics to enhance paediatric training

By participating in continuity clinics, you can enhance your knowledge about the development of common paediatric conditions, through the various ages. Residents can also take part in research projects and educational conferences to hone your medical knowledge and research skills.
