"The research protected time is definitely helpful. The seed funding is crucial for those of us starting out on our research journey, enabling us to apply for national funding to further our research."

There are definitely many challenges to balance clinical training and research work, and the biggest one has to be time. It is often difficult to juggle clinical work every day and yet have time set aside to write grants, papers and coordinate recruitment of patients. The research protected time is definitely helpful. The seed funding is crucial for those of us starting out on our research journey, enabling us to apply for national funding to further our research.

"Although this is the path less travelled, the journey is definitely a fulfilling one."

CS Residency track has been an exciting and challenging journey so far. I have received help and support from my clinical mentors who have guided me for clinical training and ensured there is protected time for my research and development. Although this is the path less travelled, the journey is definitely a fulfilling one.
