Wound Management Course Level II

The curriculum is designed for nurses to advance their knowledge and skills in wound care and tissue repair. This programme aims to advance and enhance nurses' knowledge and skills in complex wound management such as vascular, adjuvant therapies, burns, stoma care, fungating breast lesion and pressure injuries. These sessions have been designed for nurses who wish to advance and enhance their wound care knowledge from the expert guidance of wound clinicians.
At this course, participants will learn to:
Describe a complete wound assessment and establish a treatment plan
Recognize available dressing categories and be able to select them appropriately
Describe the prevention and management of pressure injuries
Explain the importance of debridement in wound healing
Differentiate the nursing management of fungating breast lesion, burns, vascular, stoma and complex wounds
Discuss advanced wound healing modalities available in wound care
Apply negative pressure wound therapy device and use other modalities appropriately
Registered Nurses involved in wound care/ tissue repair / attended Wound Management Course Level I
