Peritoneal Dialysis Training Programme
Course Reference Number: CRS-N-0048461
The purpose of the programme is to promote expanded role, enhance skills and knowledge for nurses working in the ward and to enable the nurses to be a competent in performing Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) procedures effectively and efficiently.
At this course, participants will learn to:
Outline the physiological principles of Peritoneal Dialysis
Explain exit site care according to SGH policy and procedure
Describe the different type of PD solutions, prescription and documentation
Identify the common causes of PD complications.
Demonstrate Peritoneal Dialysis Exit Side Care
Demonstrate the administration of Intra-peritoneal (approved) medications
Demonstrate Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis via Ultra Bag exchanges
Demonstrate Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis via Staysafe Balance exchanges
Demonstrate Automated Peritoneal Dialysis via Sleepsafe Harmony
Demonstrate Automated Peritoneal Dialysis via Home Choice
Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of working experience in the ward and has experience nursing patients going through Peritoneal Dialysis.
