Critical Care Nursing Course
This course aims to provide Registered Nurses with an understanding and comprehensive foundation on the principles of critical care nursing practice
To upgrade Registered Nurses with critical care knowledge & skills to provide safe and quality nursing care for patient in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
At this course, participants will learn to:
Describe the role and responsibilities of Registered Nurse in ICU
Explain the important of haemodynamic monitoring
Identify the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in managing patient with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy
Discuss nursing care for patients with respiratory failure, shock/sepsis, and high flow oxygen therapy
Discuss the nursing management of patient with neurological monitoring
Discuss the nursing management of patient with acute coronary syndrome, congestive heart failure and open heart surgery
Discuss the burns wound management and mass casualty management for Burns ICU patients.
Discuss the nursing roles and responsibilities during code blue resuscitation
Target Audience
Registered Nurses who are working in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intermediate Care Area (ICA), High Dependency Unit (HD), Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) & Ward 68.
Preferably Registered Nurses with minimum 6 months working experience in ICU or ICA.
Exclusion Criteria
Registered Nurses who have obtained Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care).
