Organ Transplant Nursing Course

This course is designed for Registered Nurses to provide nurses with the knowledge and skill to manage patients undergoing organ transplantation and post organ transplantation effectively and efficiently.
At this course, participants will learn to:
State the need for Organ Transplant Course
List the indications and contraindications for organ transplantation.
Discuss the co-ordination process for potential deceased organ donor, living organ donor and potential organ recipient.
Gain an overview of Organ Transplant Immunology.
Explain surgical procedure of Organ Transplant.
Discuss the pre-operative nursing management of recipients and living organ donors undergoing organ transplant.
Discuss the immediate post-operative nursing management of transplanted living organ donor and recipient.
Discuss the Nursing Discharge Management for post-transplant patient.
Describe the long term management of post-transplant patients.
Describe the complications that may arise post transplantation.
Identify the classification and mechanism of action of immunosuppression drugs used in organ transplant.
Explain the nutritional needs of the organ transplant recipient.
Explain the psychosocial and financial aspects of organ transplant.
Generalized the Rehabilitation Aspect of Organ Transplant
Distinguish Prevention and Control of Infections in Organ Transplant Setting
Registered Nurses with at least 2 years working experience in Specialised Unit (Ward 42, 46, 55, 64, 58, Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) & Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)) .
