End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium

The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium course aims to provide participants with the basic knowledge on the philosophy and practice of palliative care.

At this course, participants will learn to:

  • Discuss the concepts and goals of palliative care, hospital and palliative care services in Singapore

  • Discuss management of pain 

  • Explain the management of common distressing symptoms in terminal illness

  • Discuss health care professionals' loss experience in palliative care

  • Discuss the management of grief, loss and bereavement of patients and families as well as the loss experiences of health care professionals.

  • Explain ethical end of life issues with respect to Do Not Resuscitate Orders and Hydration and Nutrition at the end of life  

  • Discuss cultural and spiritual issues in palliative care

  • Discuss psychosocial and communication issues

Target Audience

Registered Nurses (minimal of 1 year working experience)
