End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium
The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium course aims to provide participants with the basic knowledge on the philosophy and practice of palliative care.
At this course, participants will learn to:
Discuss the concepts and goals of palliative care, hospital and palliative care services in Singapore
Discuss management of pain
Explain the management of common distressing symptoms in terminal illness
Discuss health care professionals' loss experience in palliative care
Discuss the management of grief, loss and bereavement of patients and families as well as the loss experiences of health care professionals.
Explain ethical end of life issues with respect to Do Not Resuscitate Orders and Hydration and Nutrition at the end of life
Discuss cultural and spiritual issues in palliative care
Discuss psychosocial and communication issues
Target Audience
Registered Nurses (minimal of 1 year working experience)
