Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy Nursing Course
This programme aims to provide Registered Nurses who are working in the critical care setting with essential knowledge and competency skills for performing Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) procedures effectively and efficiently.
At this course, participants will learn to:
State the Fundamental Concepts and Principles of CRRT.
Recall the Techniques and Modalities of CRRT.
Outline the Management of CRRT Procedure.
Discuss the CRRT Prescription, Orders and Monitoring Charts.
Identify the Role and Responsibilities of the Nurse in Management of Patients on CRRT Part 1: Care of Vascular Access, Laboratory 101, and Assessment of Patients on CRRT.
Identify the Role and Responsibilities of the Nurse in Management of Patients on CRRT Part 2: Calculation of Anticoagulation, Principles of Asepsis and Infection Control.
Demonstrate the setting up and priming CRRT machines extracorporeal circuit (PrismaFlex system and Multifiltrate pro), Initiation and Termination of CRRT.
Demonstrate the Management of the Clinical Complications that are associated with CRRT and its process.
Demonstrate the Management of Troubleshooting of CRRT System and its process.
Evaluate on the Care of Circulatory Access, Initiation and Conclusion of CRRT
Target Audience
Registered Nurses who are working in Intensive Care Units (ICUs):
Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Neurosurgical ICU, Critical Care Unit (CCU) & Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit (CTS) ICU or Respiratory Intensive Care Area (RICA) ;
Minimal of 1 year working experience as Registered Nurse
Possessed Post-Basic in Renal/Advanced Diploma in Nursing for Critical Care, Nephrology or Medical-Surgical
