In this programme, participants will gain experience in managing patients with plastic reconstructive surgery and subspecialised surgery, eg cleft lip/palate surgery, craniofacial surgery, head and neck reconstructive surgery, mastectomy with breast reconstruction, burns surgery, microvascular and aesthetic surgery.

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is a specialised surgical unit dealing with specific reconstructive and aesthetic problems. It provides services for congenital abnormalities, head and neck cancer, reconstructive microsurgery, cranio-maxillofacial surgery and trauma.

It also provides a 24 hours' service to adult and paediatric patients admitted for plastic and reconstructive surgery. It is also a centre for referrals within the hospital as well as from private/public hospitals in Singapore and region.

Located at Block 6 Level 3, the ward is managed by a senior nurse manager and supported by a team of highly skilled and experienced doctors and nurse clinicians. The nursing team provides a total nursing care to patients after reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. They also provide education and counselling to patients and parents of paediatric patients with congenital deformities eg cleft lip/palate pre- and post-operatively.
