SingHealth Duke-NUS Education Conference 2019 Call for Abstracts


CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Increase your academic impact!

Abstract submission is now CLOSED. Thank you to everyone who submitted abstracts! 


The Organising Committee invites all passionate healthcare educators and learners to share your education research outcomes and stories by:

  1. Submitting abstracts on your education research, or
  2. Sharing your stories on teaching/learning


For Education Research
Your submission should be based on Educational Research projects. Please include:  

  • The purpose of the study.
  • The methods of data collection and analysis, and details of the study population.
  • Present result(s) obtained and not data.
  • Conclusion(s) reached. It is not satisfactory to state, "The results will be discussed".


For Education Stories
In your submission, please include the following: 

  • Narrate a story on how you overcame an educational challenge.
  • Provide details of the outcome(s).
  • State what you have learnt from this episode and its significance to your future as an educator.

Guidelines & Criteria for Submissions

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Use of standard abbreviations is desirable. Place special or unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word the first time it appears.
  • Details of authors should be filled in according to descending order of contribution (from most to least). Use numerals to indicate numbers, except to begin sentences.
  • The use of tables, graphs and other types of images is not permitted.
  • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
  • Authors must ensure that the entry matches category in which it is submitted. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  • Accepted abstract author(s) will be required to submit an Abstract Poster.


All accepted abstracts (main or presenting author) are required to register and pay for the conference in order to be qualified for judging.

Kindly note that the Early-Bird rate is valid till  28 June 2019.


Rejection of Duplicate Abstracts

  • Any abstract(s) deemed to duplicate or to contain significant overlap of content will be rejected.
  • The committee will not accept any abstracts that have been submitted / published previously on other platforms or events.

​Accepted Abstract authors will be notified of acceptance.

Note: All Accepted Abstract authors are required to register for the Conference and submit e-posters in order to be qualified for judging.
