Senior Consultant, Cardiology, National Heart Centre Singapore
Assoc Prof Yeo is a senior consultant cardiologist and interventional cardiologist in the department of
cardiology and leads the MitraClip programme at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). He is a Clinical
Associate Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School and is the Scientific Lead for the Clinical Sciences and Database Core at the National Heart Research Institute Singapore. He is also the Deputy Group Chief Medical Informatics Officer (Research) for SingHealth.
Assoc Prof Yeo previously served as the Programme Director of the SingHealth Cardiology Senior Residency Programme and was also the Academic Vice-Chair (Training and Education) for the SingHealth Duke-NUS Cardiovascular Academic Clinical Programme from Apr 2016 to Mar 2021.
He is a member of the Singapore Cardiac Society; and is a Fellow of the European Society of
Cardiology (FESC), American Heart Association (FAHA), American College of Cardiology (FACC), the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (FAPSC), the Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (FAPSIC), and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He is the Past-Chair of the Chapter of Cardiologists, Academy of Medicine Singapore, and the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology. He is the Principal Investigator of the SingCLOUD and SingHEART studies.

AI is now used in many industries, including healthcare. Often, a key focus of AI development in healthcare is in the development of accurate algorithms to make a diagnosis, or to predict an outcome, or to enter a process pathway. However, there are other major considerations that are important to any AI work, especially in healthcare. These include ethical, regulatory, legal, humanism, professional and training considerations. In this talk, Assoc Prof Yeo will discuss some of these issues and highlight the importance of a holistic approach in deploying AI to healthcare.
