Dr Tay Jing Ling

Dr Tay Jing Ling is a full-time Advanced Practice Nurse from the Institute of Mental Health. She graduated with PhD after conducting a series of research on mental health literacy. She is a clinician, educator and researcher and has published extensively in nursing and medical journals. She is especially passionate in mental health clinical care.

Mental health disorders are debilitating, affecting functioning at multiple domains. Despite the high prevalence of mental health disorders, many people are not keen to seek professional help, due to poor mental health literacy. Mental health literacy can be increased by information and communication technological interventions. Nurses play a crucial role in the development and dissemination of interventions to promote early help – seeking, recovery and enhancing quality of life among our patients.
