Presentation Title: Innovative Technologies in Exercise Training

Exercise is a fundamental to prevent the onset of various chronic pathologies, and the basic components of exercise medicine are aerobic and resistance exercise.

Both can be properly designed, prescribed and controlled using advanced technologies, constituted by innovative equipment and software. Moreover, data produced by those exercise equipment connected online can be stored in cloud based repository to be used for subsequent big data analysis.

Particularly useful in exercise medicine are specific strength training equipment in which the resistance is provided by an electrical motor controlled by a software that allows each machine to easily recreate different resistance profiles and quickly switch between each other in accordance to the rehabilitation goals. In addition to the conventional isotonic resistance, where constant muscle tension is ensured throughout the range of movement, those machines allow exercising under isokinetic, viscous or elastic conditions.

During the speech, different examples on how these technology can be implemented in training and rehabilitation will be presented.
