Introduction

The Pre WSRM (World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery) Microsurgery, Robotics and Cadaveric Perforator Flap course 2017 will be held from June 8-12th 2017. This intensive course offers an excellent opportunity for established and budding reconstructive surgeons to expand their current repertoire in perforator flap surgery. The faculty includes international experts Professor Kim Jeong Tae from Hanyang Univeristy and Associate Professor J Selber from MD Anderson Cancer Centre.

This program will allow participants to familiarize themselves with the full spectrum of perforator flap techniques and their clinical applications. The Course will be held at Academia, Singapores premier simulation skills and training centre, located on the Singapore General Hospital(SGH) campus. The emphasis is on hands-on practice with injected fresh cadaveric specimens.

Participants will learn the following:

Course objectives includes, development and perfecting techniques for perforator flap harvest and its clinical indications. The last day will focus on robotic surgery and its role in reconstructive surgery. Robotic applications have officially entered the field of plastic surgery, capitalizing on two principle advantages: improved visualization and improved precision. This course hopes to introduce budding reconstructive surgeons to the latest developments in this new and exciting realm of reconstrcutive surgery.

Target Audience

  • Residents in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, General Surgery, ENT Surgery
